It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the big iGaming companies, what with the release of October’s quarterly reports, not to mention a couple of high-profile mergers (Netent and Evolution). Things are looking pretty lively on the development front too with a raft of new online slots in the pipeline. With this in mind, here’s a run-down of the most hotly-anticipated games that are to be unveiled in the waning months of 2020.
Evolution’s fast-approaching acquisition hasn’t slowed NetEnt prodigious production levels. Not a bit of it in fact. The Swedish developer will be unveiling no less than five slot games in November. Two of them (Divine Fortune, Twin Spin) have been redeveloped to include the famed Megaways engine and will be out on November 12 and 24 respectively. Then there’s the casino/slot hybrid Roulette MAX and The Trillionaire - a branded five-reeler developed in conjunction with Fashion TV. But the pick of the bunch is Gonzo’s Quest VR. Set for release on the 25th, it will be the first Net Ent slot to feature virtual reality, although plenty more are expected to follow.
Although not quite as prolific as NetEnt in terms of slot game production, Wazdan has a pretty respectable portfolio of titles under its belt. Highlights include Power of Gods: Egypt, Larry the Leprechaun, and Lucky Reels – all pretty decent games in their own right. As far as new launches go, Wazdan will be releasing an animated five-reel slot game, Captain Flynt in mid-December.
Red Tiger is another developer that’s doesn’t rest on its laurels when it comes to the creation of hit gambling games. The company, which usually partners with NetEnt, has four slots that are (almost) ready for release, two of which are pencilled in for 2020. The first, 10001 Nights, will be available on November 11 and includes four bonus features, special free spins round, and a max-win potential of x10347. Early reviews have generally been positive. The second game is Jingle Bells Power Reels – a high-volatility sequel to Red Tiger’s seasonal slot which features the Power Reels mechanic.
Yggdrasil has been in the news recently after securing a major distribution deal with OptiBet. It seems the developer has been working hard behind the scenes as well, with four games scheduled for release between now and February: Reel Desire, Frost Queen Jackpots, Syncronite, and Carol of the Elves - the latter two games will be available this month. Syncronite (November 19) is the third title to include Yggdrasil’s Splitz mechanic. Comprising a kind of retro art-deco theme, the slot features a 6 x 6 configuration and a maximum payout of 64,000. Carol of the Elves (November 26) is a high volatility slot with a 1-3-5-3-1 layout and an RTP of 96.2%
Where to start with Blueprint Gaming? From November 14 to January 6, this UK-based outfit plans to release fifteen slots of which fourteen will be unveiled in 2020. They are as follows: Red Hot Repeater Power Spins, Super Fortune Dragon Power Spins, Sweet as Candy Prize Lines, Wonder of Egypt Jackpot King, Dafabet Megaways, Pirates Bounty Megaways, Fishing Frenzy Prize Lines, Top Cat most Wanted, Ricky and Morty Bonus Slot, Lion Thunder Spin Boost, Gods of Egypt, King Kong Cash Prize Lines, Danske Spil Megaways and Thai Flower Megaways.
It’s going to be quite a busy November for Inspired which will be launching three online slots: Santa King Megaways, Secret Scrolls and King of Charms. The latter fantasy-themed game will be available from November 9 and is a standard five-reel slot with 10 pay-lines. Secret Scrolls is to be released a day later and features the same game engine albeit with a less lucrative max win pay-out. Santa King is an update to Inspired’s celebrated land-based slot game, Reel King. The only differences between the two relate to the theme and inclusion of the Megaways engine.
Play ‘n Go has clearly taken a leaf out of Blueprint’s book. Twelve slots are to be released by the end of January including eight in 2020. These are Viking Runecraft Bingo (November 12), Rise of Athena (November 12), 24K Dragon (November 19), Dragon’s Diamond (November 19), New Year Riches (November 26), Frozen Gems (December 10), Golden Osiris (December 17) and Piggy Bank Farm (December 29). Out of this batch, Viking Runecraft Bingo, with its accomplished visuals and feature-laden gameplay is the most eagerly anticipated.
